Operation Report for September 2011

Created on Thursday, 03 November 2011 Written by Doug Dugger

During the month of September 2011 there were 38 flight operations at our airport.  There were 6 medivac operations during September 2011.   This is an unusually low count for a month with very good weather, although many of our local pilots are on extended trips.

On October 1, 2011 the first annual Rancho Tehama Run occurred.  The organizers of the run requested that we provide ‘air cover’ of the event.   Aircraft that are based here at Rancho Tehama flew over the runners and the crowd for about 20 minutes.  The feedback was all positive regarding the fly-by.

Maintenance for the runway surface of our airport has been on hold while we waited to see if it would be possible to piggy back on the roads slurry sealing operation.  Unfortunately the price for doing this to our runway is prohibitive.  Having determined that, we are now in the process of getting the runway fog coated again before the heavy winter rains arrive.
