Operation Report January 2012
During the month of January 2012 there were 25 operations. There were 10 medivac operations during January 2012. The month of January 2012 had reasonable weather for flying, and as a result we had an increase in traffic over January 2011.
We would like to say a big Thank You to Enloe Flight Operations who have supplied us with Two Brand new wind socks. We have now installed one of the new Socks, and as a result we have visible wind indicators at the west end of the runway as well as at the center of the runway. We do not have a wind sock at the east end of the runway because of the buildings and trees that create a ‘wind shadow’ which make a wind sock useless.
During January we had sufficient breaks in the weather to start spraying for weeds on the runway. This is the first of probably 2 sprayings during the growing season. This year are spraying schedule is ahead of last year’s which should keep things in good order.
